Amy + Nathan | Dorado Beach, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve Elopement Photography

If you entered my webpage through the home page or if I gave you my business card, the photo above might seem a little familiar, just slightly less posed.

Some of Amy and Nathan’s elopement photos have been on my favorites list for years, using them to showcase my work and I just recently realized I never truly blogged their elopement. It was years ago but I remember every vivid detail fondly.

When Amy and Nathan reached out via their wedding officiant, I was ecstatic to find out they would be celebrating their mini wedding at Dorado Beach, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve. I had previously seen photos of the lush tropical greenery this luxury hotel in Puerto Rico had to offer and had been wanting to land a wedding there for some time and what better way to experience the peaceful beauty of the resort than with Amy and Nathan.

On the wedding day, it was only Amy, Nathan, the officiant, me and the golf cart chauffeur, meaning we had all the time to wander the property and stop for photos for any places that might’ve caught our eyes. Our first stop was at the Spa Botánico, fragrant in a way that inspired peace. Keeping the photography to its surrounding to protect the peace inside, we settled for some pictures against an age old Ceiba tree, iconic for its own beauty and then a few shots at the top of the stairs. These had quickly become my favorite shots, for if you’ve been around long enough, you know I love old (and old-looking) buildings!

After walking all around the Spa Botánico and pausing at every corner now and then for some shots, it was time for Amy and Nathan to finally celebrate their wedding ceremony in a quiet, intimate gazebo on a cliff that overlooked the Atlantic Ocean. With the sun setting upon the western coast of Puerto Rico and the breezy wind as their guests, Amy and Nathan tied the knot.

Thank you for sticking with me thus far and I do hope you’ve enjoyed these photos. If you have a wedding coming up, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m currently living in Orlando, FL but will gladly hop on a plane and go to Puerto Rico to cover your special event!
